Title of the Invited Talk: Vision based behaviour analysis
Abstract: In this talk, Vision-Based Behaviour Analysis, we present our recent research activities aimed at advancing AI applications in long-term care settings. The focus is on leveraging two distinct sensing modalities—range sensing and thermal sensing—to interpret specific scenarious in elderly care. Two primary use cases will be discussed: an automated toilet assistance system designed to support individuals living with dementia and a fall detection system tailored for use in elderly care facilities. The presentation underscores the importance of algorithmic transparency, fairness, and ethical considerations, advocating for the inclusion of caregivers and care recipients in the design and implementation process. By fostering trust and ensuring human-centered AI solutions, this research aims to deliver innovative yet practical tools that enhance the quality of care while respecting the dignity and autonomy of individuals in long-term care settings.
